Turn any text into a song

Paste a letter, a birthday wish, a story or your notes. Have it sung just as you typed it, shaped into lines first, or let the AI write a song from it.

The first song needs no account; each run gives you two versions in about a minute.

Three texts, start to finish

We tried each way on texts we wrote for this page.

A birthday wish, sung as typed

Happy birthday, Grandpa Leo! Another year of bad jokes, burnt toast and the best stories at the table. We love you more than all the candles on this cake.

In a pop style, both takes sang all 29 words, in 50 and 47 seconds. Three sentences make a short song: give it more to say, or let the AI write the song, for something longer.

A memory, shaped into lines

Every Saturday at 7:30 my dad and I walked to the market on Mill Rd. He always bought 2 loaves of bread and a bag of oranges, and if I was good I got 1 sugar bun that I ate before we reached the corner. In 1998 the market closed and a bank opened where the bread stall used to be. I still walk past it on Saturdays, and some mornings I swear I can still smell the bread.

Light shaping cut it into lines and stanzas without losing a word, and wrote out what a singer would read off the page:

  • 7:30 → seven thirty
  • Mill Rd. → Mill Road
  • 2 → two
  • 1 → one
  • 1998 → nineteen ninety-eight
After light shaping

Every Saturday at seven thirty my dad and I walked to the market on Mill Road He always bought two loaves of bread and a bag of oranges and if I was good I got one sugar bun that I ate before we reached the corner In nineteen ninety-eight the market closed and a bank opened where the bread stall used to be I still walk past it on Saturdays and some mornings I swear I can still smell the bread

In an acoustic style, both takes sang every word, in 1:21 and 1:16.

The same memory, written into a song by the AI

Given the whole text, the AI wrote a full song from it: two verses, a chorus sung twice, a bridge and an ending, 3:07 long. It kept every one of the fifteen details we checked, from seven thirty on Mill Road to the smell of bread, and added a few touches of its own, such as a canvas shopping bag and “his steady hand”. Its chorus:

I still walk past on Saturdays Where the bread stall used to be A bank stands quiet in its place But the old smell follows me

Study notes, written into a song

From six lines of notes on photosynthesis, the AI wrote a study song that kept every fact, down to the equation, which it set in the chorus. Here the two takes came with different lyrics, 2:38 and 1:53 long, so it is worth hearing both.

Basis: songs we made on Lyricsung on 2 November 2026 from texts we wrote for testing, two takes each. “Every word” comes from the engine’s own word check of each take, not from listening.

As typed, light shaping or the AI: what each one changes

As typed
Your words exactly, in your lines. Best for lyrics, poems and short wishes; up to 5,000 characters.
Light shaping
Your words exactly, cut into lines and stanzas, with numbers and short forms written out. You see every change before it is sung.
Let AI write it
New lyrics from your text, with a chorus and a full song’s length. It keeps your details and may add its own; up to 2,000 characters.

Whichever you choose, give it the whole story. We also gave the same memory to a lyric writer that reads only the first 200 characters of a text: it lost the ending, where the market closes and the smell of bread stays, and put words in the father’s mouth that the text never gave him.

How much text works

Sung as typed or shaped, a song is as long as its words: our 29-word wish made songs of about fifty seconds, the 81-word memory songs of about a minute and a quarter, and a song stops at about 7 minutes, so a long text is better split into two songs. Written by the AI, the length follows the song it writes: three minutes from the same 81 words. How long a song runs has the figures for lyrics.

Names, numbers and short forms

Light shaping writes out numbers, times, years, sums of money and common short forms, and lists each change, because a singer reads “6:45” or “Rd.” off the page. Names it leaves to you: if one is said differently from how it is spelled, write it the way it sounds. Sing my lyrics has our test of names and numbers.

Your words stay private

Letters and wishes are personal. Songs are private until you share a link; nothing you make appears in a public list. Who can hear my songs explains sharing.

Questions about turning text into a song

Do I need lyrics to make a song?

No. Paste the words you have, a letter, a wish or notes, and choose how to use them: sung as typed, shaped into lines first, or written into a song by the AI. Lyrics are words in lines, and light shaping makes the lines for you.

Will it keep my exact words?

As typed and light shaping do: in our tests every take sang every word, and light shaping changes only numbers and short forms, listing each one. Letting the AI write the song doesn’t: it writes new lines from your text and keeps its details, not its wording.

Can it sing a letter or a speech?

Yes. A short one can be sung as typed; a longer one sings better shaped into lines, or written into a song by the AI, which builds a chorus from it. Up to 5,000 characters can be sung as typed, but a song stops at about 7 minutes, so a long letter may need two songs; the AI writes from up to 2,000.

Can it make my text rhyme?

Only when you let the AI write the song: it writes rhyming lines and a chorus from your text. As typed and light shaping keep your words, rhymes or not, and a text without rhymes still sings well in short lines.

Can I describe the song instead of writing it?

Yes. Write what the song is about, who it is for and a few real details, then choose Let AI write the song. The more of your own details it has, the more the song is about your life rather than anyone’s.
